The Future of Contemporary Photography: Dumbo Festival

Wowieeee, this might be the biggest photo event of my life! From May 14 till May 18, 2008 Dumbo will host the New York Photo Festival curated by Martin Parr, Lesley A. Martin, Tim Barber and Cathy Ryan.

The VII Photo Agency celebrates its 7th anniversary with a three day seminar in Dumbo featuring Eugene Richards, Gary Knight, Antonin Kratochvil, Marcus Bleasdale, Joachim Ladefoged and other big names in the PJ and documentary world. They will also have reviews of your portfolio ($200 gets you a review by 2 VII photographers).

The festival accepts submissions for the first New York Photo Awards in 16 categories (with separate categories for student work). Submissions are accepted until April 14, 2008 but they aren’t free. I have to admit that they aren’t very expensive either, especially for students! You still have time to submit in one or more of the categories:
